A Project Close to My Heart – Spreading Joy, Learning Love
Some projects stay with you forever not because theyâre massive, but because they touch your soul emotionally.
One such project for me was our Autism Awareness and Christmas Joy campaign named Frost of Love. Handling logistics from Colombo to Kandy, managing transport, and coordinating teams was challenging, but the joy we experienced made it all worth it.
We spent a magical day with children who created handmade Christmas cards, played games, and just were themselves. These kids reminded us that their unique genetic conditions donât make them different in a bad way but they make them extraordinary.
We sold the Christmas cards back at APIIT and donated the proceeds to a childrenâs care society in Kandy. It was a day of genuine smiles, real learning, and warmth.
Another special memory was from Galle, where we collected toys and spent time with kids for Christmas. Singing, gifting, laughing â it wasnât just a project; it was a celebration of humanity.
Rotaract so far has taught me that small efforts can bring immense light.
